Darts
The Darts scene in the area prior to the covid lockdown in 2019 was well catered to, with many venues to throw some arrows at; however even before the shutdown, it had fallen away from it’s peak when there were three or four separate leagues, to just the one relatively small league. Several venues are probably not in existence now though. There are some extremely good players in the area, some of whom regularly compete at regional and national competitions, but in the main you found them taking part in the Hua Hin Darts League every Tuesday evening. This sadly fell victim to the lockdown, and as of May 2022 was not running as best we can ascertain, but we hope that it will either be revived or replaced as things return to normal. The epicentre of the local darts world was probably the Johnnie Walker bar, and the organiser of the league, Oil, ran that bar and has consistently been one of the best players in the area. Oil had previously been at the previously nearby Jungle Juice bar, which has now reopened as Jungle Juice 94, so we await to hear if darts will again be a feature. Oil departed for a new life in New Zealand, while the Johnnie Walker bar sadly closed.
